Maverick Intro·Lil Uzi Vert
Heeeees back. Like he never left. Full review on this EP soon.
The home of all my music thoughts & reccomendations.
Out of nowhere, Uzi decided to drop an EP. My Uzi superfan told me it was only on Apple at the time, so luckily, that wasn’t a problem for me. It was perfect timing, too, since I was out and about, it immediately got the car test. I was blown away by how good the songs sounded and how seamlessly they blended into one another. I got back home and listened to the rest of the EP with the aforementioned Uzi superfan.
When we were listening to this song, I knew I had heard the main melody somewhere before, but I couldn’t place it. It was absolutely killing me. I was trying my best to jog my memory, but I couldn’t get my music neuron to fire. I kept saying, “Replay that last part,” again and again and again. I was doing everything I could to figure out what it reminded me of, but nothing worked.
I knew it would bug me for the rest of the night if I couldn’t place it. So, I went to Genius to look at the credits and see if anyone else knew, and of course, no one did. But when I clicked to expand the producer list, that music neuron FIRED, and I knew exactly what song I was thinking of.
Ronny J was a listed producer for the song. As a big Ronny J fan during the SoundCloud boom, I kept tabs on him, so I knew it was “824” by Ronny J, one of my favorites from his debut album, OMGRonny.
With that mystery solved, I, Mr. Super Ears, can sleep peacefully at night.

One of the best songs off his debut. Definetly go check this out if you haven't listened to this album.
